Car is currently painted '80 Corvette Flame Red. Major frame off restoration performed in 1981. Motor rebuilt (second time) in 1996 @ 50,409. Miles. Car currently has 54,800. miles.
I bought the car in 1998. Stored it for 5 years, where it deteriorated somewhat due to moist storage space (mildew, mold etc.). Commenced w/ a major "freshening" and "resto-mod" updates in 4/03. Process is 95%+ complete but ongoing. Restorations/Upgrades included: Coolant systems upgrade / Kenlow "pusher" fan Brake upgrades: Slotted /cross-drilled disks / Hawk semi metallic pads / stainless steel braided brake lines / rear alloy finned drums w/ semi metallic "track day" shoes / Silicon brake fluid / Heavy Duty Wheel Bearings / Aluminum Front Hubs Engine: Head ported / polished. Bronze valve guides/Carb rebuild. External valve train oiler / stainless external engine hardware / Spin on adapter / Petronix ignition / Lucas Sports Coil / K&N Air Filters Front Suspension - Quick Ratio Steering rack / solid rack mount bushings / Powder Coated Upper / Lower A Arms / Urethane Bushings / Spax Adjustable Shocks / 1" Addco front sway bar w/ Racing Beat adjustable end bar links / new springs Rear Suspension - Urethane bushings / 4 Spax Adjustable shocks / 11/16" rear sway bar mounted Wheels / Tires - Panasport 16" x 7" wheels w/ Falken Azenias mounted 215/45/16 (also have 2 complete sets of powder coated / polished finned alloy wheels w/ Kuhmo 195/65/15 tires mounted on both). Interior - Completely "leak proofed /heat proofed & soundproofed" with extensive heat shield and sound shielding throughout all interior surfaces. New ProCar "Scat" Racing seats / Momo shift knob / new polished alum. Motolita 3 spoke steering wheel / Wilton black carpet w/ red piping throughout cabin. NOS Webasto Weathershield sunroof / new headliner and re-vinyling of dash. / Halon Extinguisher. / "Proper" rear vew mirror / new windshield. Still to do - fabricate and install Chromemoly roll bar and OMP 5 point belt harness system Install new gas tank (aluminum) (have tank) Install lightened flywheel (have parts) Install exterior power kill switch (SCCA requirement) Install driver seat brace (SCCA requirement) Install Monza Pacesetter resonator tips Powder Coat rear A arms Rebuild half shafts Car is driven fairly frequently. Driven to Pittsburgh, PA last summer (7 hour trip @ 75 mph). All things considered it is a solid reliable car, that is a lot of fun!Current Owner:
